Reverse Calculation
To find the original value after a percentage increase, divide the new value by (1 + percentage/100).
Adding Percentages

Percentage Points
An increase from 10% to 12% is a 2 percentage point increase, but a 20% relative increase.
Multiplication Shortcut
To calculate 15% of a number, find 10% (divide by 10) and add half of that value.
Division Trick
To divide by 5, multiply by 20% (or simply multiply by 2 and move the decimal).
