Your PAN card is a key document for taxes and identity. It has a unique 10-digit code essential for filing income tax returns.
Sometimes, the name on your PAN card might not match the name on your Aadhaar card due to spelling errors or other reasons. You might also need to change your PAN card name for legal reasons. It’s important to have matching details on both cards for successful linking.
Here’s how to easily change your PAN card name using your Aadhaar card:
Step 1. Visit the official website: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
Step 2. Click on “PAN Card Services” and then “Change/Correction in PAN Card.”
Step 3. Enter your details and click “Continue.” Note down the token number.
Step 4. Choose between “Physical” (sending documents by mail) or “Digital” (eKYC and eSign).
Step 5. If choosing “Digital,” click “Yes” for Aadhaar-based e-KYC to update details as per Aadhaar.
Step 6. Enter your PAN, select how you want to receive the updated card (physical, e-PAN, or both), and enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number.
Step 7. Choose whether you want the same photo as your Aadhaar card and enter your name as per Aadhaar.
Step 8. Fill in other details and make the required payment.
Step 9. After successful payment, click “Continue.”
Step 10. Your Aadhaar will be authenticated by the UIDAI server.
Step 11. You’ll receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter it and check the box to approve. Your address from the UIDAI database will be filled in.
Step 12. Confirm the details and submit.
Step 13. Use the new OTP to e-sign the application using Aadhaar-based e-signature.
You can also make PAN corrections offline by submitting a form at the nearest PAN facilitation center.
