The Government of India has established the DigiLocker feature as part of its Digital India initiative. It enables citizens to securely save essential and official documents digitally, eliminating the need for physical paper.

DigiLocker reduces the need to carry documents around with you at all times. The driving licence is one of the most common documents that everyone takes with them. However, if you do not have a valid driver’s licence for some reason, you may be subject to a costly challan. As a result, we’ll show you how to store your driving licence in DigiLocker.

Step By Step Process of Add Driving License to DigiLocker Account

Step 1: Sign up for DigiLocker using your phone number on the official DigiLocker website –www.digilocker.gov.in.

Step 2: You will receive an OTP (One-time Password), which you must input in order to create a username and password for your account.

Step 3: You can also create an MPIN, which will allow you to log in faster in the future or in circumstances where you need to source a document quickly.

Step 4: After you’ve created your DigiLocker account, you’ll need to attach your AADHAAR card to it.

Step 5: The ‘Pull Partner’s Document’ feature of the app can be accessed from here. You can enter your driver’s licence number in this part, and the programme will locate the licence for you.

Step 6: After selecting ‘Pull Documents,’ you must choose the partner via which you want to source the document, such as the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways, All States in this case.

Step 7: In Document type, Just find Driving Licence and tap on it.

Step 8: After you’ve filled in all of the required information, such as your name and address, the app will request the document from the specified partner and save it in the app. The app user is given 1 GB of storage space for their documents.

All government agencies are now required to follow the DigiLocker sourcing document and use it for all government procedures.
